We’re excited to announce the winner of our Sydney Boat Show competition! Joe Crisafulli is the lucky winner of a $150 dining voucher for Bacar Restaurant, two tickets to the Sydney Boat Show and an exclusive meet-and-greet with footy and fishing legend Andrew ‘ET’ Attinghausen.
The indoor mega events bring together everything you love about life on the water: trailerable boats, marine gadgets, casting shows and even live cooking demos and a jam-packed family zone. Itโs a must-do for fishos, boaties and families alike.
Our winner, Joe, is a longtime fan of the Sydney Boat Show, having attended previous events at Darling Harbour. However, this year, for the first time ever, the Sydney Boat Show will drop its anchor at the Sydney Olympic Park. Luckily for Joe, who lives in North Western Sydney near Parramatta, this show is much closer to home.
Joe remarked, “There’s no one else I could bring” than his wife, who will be enjoying a delicious lunch at Sydney Olympic Park’s Bacar Restaurant, which is known for its delicious contemporary cuisine and use of local Australian ingredients. He’s won a hamper before, but never an experience like this.
While Joe doesn’t own a boat himself, his uncle, who lives up on the Hawkesbury, used to sail down to Sydney, and the two of them would attend the boat shows together.
At the 2025 Sydney Boat Show, Joe will have the opportunity to have a personal meet and greet with ET Ettinghausen, who will be ready to share all his best fishing tips. Joe’s a keen fisherman himself, though he admits that a few family members might have the edge on him when it comes to skill.
“I’m not the best one in the family, not as good as my uncles. I don’t have as much patience as they do, but I like eating seafood, so I cover that base!”
Joe’s family is from a small fishing town in Italy, which is where they get their love for fishing from. Maybe he’ll pick up some new fishing gear at the Sydney Boat Show, which will feature all the latest in boating tech, including trailerable boats, marine gadgets, casting shows and even live cooking demos and a jam-packed family zone.

Andrew ‘ET’ Ettingshausen, ex-rugby play and the Boat Showโs official ambassador, will appear across the four days, hosting fishing chats on the Anaconda Main Stage, casting lines at the Fishing Supertank and even dropping by the Garden Bar for live music and cold beers.
We spent an afternoon on the water with Ettingshausen, who shared his fishing know-how which led to our own Peter Lynch catching his first fish in Sydney Harbour โ even after 10 years of sailing those crystal waters. Take a look at the day:
