1. Rocker, Bondi

Perched above the iconic Bondi Beach, Rocker offers a Sunday roast experience that’s both traditional and uniquely coastal. Their menu features options like wagyu beef rump, crispy pork belly and maple-spiced roast pumpkin, all accompanied by Yorkshire puddings, honey-roasted carrots and other seasonal veggies. They don’t scrimp on the gravy here, with plates practically overflowing. Speaking of overflowing โ€“ you can also add cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets, steamed greens and extra meat, roast potatoes or Yorkshire pudding too. Finish with a huge portion of sticky date pudding and you’re set.

If that all doesn’t sound like enough, the ‘BIG Roast’ comes with both beef and pork, served with pigs in blankets, apple sauce, horseradish and a generous jug of gravy โ€“ all for $69. Afterwards, roll down the hill to Bondi Beach for a bit of fresh air after your Sunday feast.

Pair an impressive selection of craft beers with a a Chinese-Irish Sunday feast and you’ve got this Darlinghurst favourite. The Spice Bags were such a hit on St Patrick’s Day, the chefs have extended it into a full Sunday Shenanigans Banquet. Designed to share between at least two people, tuck into prawn crackers, vegetarian spring rolls, salt and pepper fries, egg fried rice, chilli chicken, sweet and sour chicken and McDonnell’s curry sauce. As you’d expect from somewhere named The Royal Hotel, this Paddo fave serves a classic Sunday roast in elegant surroundings. It’s said that The Welcome Hotel earned its name when a friendly publican welcomed in a lost English fox hound, named Winston, in 1878. Nowadays, The Welcome is still regarded for its hospitality, as well as its wine cellar, beer menu and classic pub food. Every Sunday from midday until sold out, diners can choose from three meats, served with all the trimmings.
