Race of Champions (ROC) is coming to Sydney for the first time ever this weekend, stretched across two days with intense racing battles as the world’s best drivers go head-to-head, racing in identical cars to see who really is the fastest driver on earth.
More than 100 workers are currently pulling overtime to turn Accor Stadium into a modern day racing coliseum, marking the biggest temporary transformation in the massive venue’s 23-year-history.

Locked in for Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8, Race of Champions Sydney will be headlined by some of the biggest names in racing including Sebastian Vettel, Mick Schumacher, Travis Pastrana and Jamie Whincup. And while seeing those legends in the flesh is going to be exciting for all motorsports enthusiasts, what’s really moving tickets is the varied line-up of vehicles being raced.
Six different makes of car will be raced head-to-head on a 1km asphalt track designed specifically for side-to-side driving. The whole thing took eight days to build and will present the 13,500sqm stadium in a way no one has seen before. The one-off circuit, which includes a 43-metre crossover bridge, has been built using cutting-edge design technology and studious precision.
The cars have all been polished and meticulously prepared for the legendary race. They range from the outrageous KTM X-Bow Comp R to the Polaris RZR Pro R and the mighty four-wheel drive FC2 Rallycross, which has been rated to reach 0-100km/h in just over 2 seconds.

This range and variety of cars means that Race of Champions winner has demonstrated proficiency in a number of different cars, requiring different driving techniques.
