Sydney’s Paddy’s Markets are about to go full Bavarian this October, as Hay Street Market transforms into a frothy wonderland for Oktoberfest, running 17–19 October — and admission is free!
Raise a stein and say prost! because this weekend promises German beer, wurst galore, and a soundtrack of oompah joy. Expect stalls serving bratwurst and weisswurst, crispy pork knuckle, sauerkraut, pretzels dripping in butter, and sweet apfelstrudel for dessert.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Oktoberfest without the frothy line-up of German lagers and hefeweizens, plus local craft brews to keep Sydney’s hop heads happy.

Hay Street Market will be decked out in full Bavarian splendour — think blue-and-white bunting, long communal tables, live music, and plenty of opportunities to test your polka footwork.
So dust off the lederhosen and lace up that dirndl, because even if you can’t pronounce Schweinshaxe, you’ll be too busy dancing to care. Whether you come for the food, the beer, or the vibe, this Oktoberfest promises hearty laughs, clinking glasses, and plenty of Instagrammable moments under Paddy’s roof.
It’s free, it’s festive, and it’s proof that you don’t need a ticket to Munich to get a real taste of Bavaria.
