The AFL Grand Final kicks off this Saturday at 2:30pm, and while the action unfolds at the MCG in Mebourne, there’s no doubt Sydney’s pubs will see a strong turnout of spectators ready to cheer on their favourite team (even if it’s not the Swans) and soak in the atmsophere.

In that spirit, we’ve rounded up the best venues in Sydney to watch the AFL Grand Final, including all the food and drink deals they’ll be offering, how to get money off your tab and where to go for your chance to win various AFL-themed competitions and giveaways. Only one question remains: Are you backing the Geelong Cats or the Brisbane Lions? Let the rivalry begin!


Where to watch the AFL Grand Final in Sydney

1. The Clock, Surry Hills

Surry Hills favourite, The Clock, will be throwing a Grand Final Street Party on Collins Street, complete with food stalls, a pop-up bar, DJs spinning tunes late into the night, and a Balter Beer Garden serving pints at schooner prices. There will be outdoor screens (perfect for the sunny forecast) and a guaranteed high-energy atmosphere. What’s more, they’ll be serving up $18 jugs of Carlton Draught and there are no bookings required, simply rock up and enjoy.

2. The Light Brigade, Woollahra

Woollahra’s multi-storeyed bar will be offering up a variety of match-day deals and giveaways. Sit on their rooftop and enjoy a Doozy Seltzer Bucket from $35, or indulge in their footy finals specials: four sliders, half a kilo of wins, chips and aioli for $30, and two Great Northern Schooners for $15. If you buy this combo during the finals, you can enter their incredible giveaway of a $10k trip for two to Las Vegas for the 2026 NRL kick-off.

3. Paddo Inn, Paddington

Another bar that typically draws in a big AFL crowd, the Paddo Inn will be serving $10 pints of Carlton Draught alongside their top-notch pub menu. Perfect for post-games kick-ons, Paddo Inn stays open until 1am on Saturdays, so even if you don’t watch the game there, you can always head over to Oxford Street for a boogie after.

4. The Norfolk Hotel, Redfern 

Head over to The Norfolk in Redfern and enjoy their lively courtyard, $15 jugs of Reschs and pub classics done right. Grab a beef and VB party pie and settle down to watch the game on the big screen. If pub food isn’t your vibe, head to Ricos Tacos, tucked into the Norfolk’s sunny courtyard, and sip frozen margs while you enjoy zesty ceviche and signature tacos instead.

5. The Erko, Erskineville

The Erko will be serving up $15 Reschs jugs for finals seasons, as well as Solotel’s Tinnie Towers — which is described as “the sports lover’s high tea”, stacked with pork and fennel sausage rolls, beef party pies, chipes with tomato sauce and four tinnies on ice, setting you back $60. The Erko is a family-friendly pub, so bring the little ones along with you and get them cheering for your favourite team.

6. Woollahra Hotel, Woollahra

The Woollahra Hotel is bringing back its Game Day deal, with game day pints for schooner prices during all finals games and Game Day Buckets consisting of four Doozys for $30. This Saturday, there will be a Young Hearts DJ set from 7:30pm until late after the AFL, meaning you can keep the party going long after the game has wrapped up.

7. Forrester’s, Surry Hills

Forrester’s will be offering an array of game day specials at their dog-friendly pub, including $1 Buffalo wings with ranch, $9 White Bay draight schooners and a $20 deal which includes 12 wings and a White Bay draught schooner. Even if you’re not that into the footy, head to the Forrester’s for the excuse to try their viral ‘Big Yorkie’— which consists of a roast, veggies and gravy tucked into a giant Yorkshire pudding.

8. Taphouse, Darlinghurst

With over 20 beers on tap, big screens for showing the footy, a Contonese-inspired menu (including spice bags and bao buns) as well as a dog-friendly atmosphere, Taphouse in Darlinghurst is perfect for a pre-game pint, post-match feed or the whole thing. Just a short walk from the SCG and Allianz Stadium, it’s no surprise The Taphouse is a favourite hangout for footy fans.

9. Golden Sheaf, Double Bay

Known for its spacious pub garden and dedicated sports bar, the Sheaf knows how to do games day well, attracting spectators from all over Sydney to their Double Bay stronghold. Catch the action on their big screen while you sip on $20 jugs of Balter XPA and support your chosen team.

10. The Marsden Brewhouse, Marsden Park

One of Greater Western Sydney’s sporting meccas, The Marsden Brewhouse is pulling out all the stops this footy finals season, with $45 shared beer towers, $7 beer pairings, $50 cocktail towers and a Footy Snack Menu featuring Buffalo wings, brisket-loaded fries and Philly cheesesteaks.

11. Public House, Petersham

This popular Inner West pub, Public House Petersham (PHP), is back with a fresh new look just in time for Footy Finals season. They’ll be streaming the Grand Final live and dishing out $15 jugs of VB to help you get excited for the game. Sit under the fairylights in their beer garden and enjoy the newly renovated space.

12. BrewDog, South Eveleigh

For the AFL Grand Final, BrewDog South Eveleigh is offering two burgers and a beer tower for $129, and a further 10% off at the bar if you wear your dream kit. Half-time fun is sorted with an exxciting raffle draw, while BrewDog keeps the energy high with extensive food menu and collection of craft beers.
