The Big Design Market is bringing over 200 indie brands to Carriageworks

Over 200 independent brands will come together at Carriageworks for the return of the three-day Big Design Market.

The yearly shopping event, popping up towards the end of September, has now become one of the most anticipated of the year with a fresh lineup of boutique homewares, art prints, ceramics, locally-made fashion, jewellery and just about every other Market staple you can think of.

Each year, Carriageworks turns into a mega-market perfect for gift shopping or picking up a unique new favourite.

It’s held in high regard amongst fashion lovers in particular, with some of Australia’s best independent brands setting up to showcase what’s new and hot in their world.

The 2024 markets look to be the most diverse yet, pulling together names you would usually have to search far and wide for. And it’s a great opportunity to meet the makers as well, providing more insight into how products were made.

Everyone from Dukes and Gem the Label to Made for a Goddess and Mingled feature on the line-up, along with a whole host of food and drink exhibitors like Archie Rose and Brooklyn Boy Bagels.

This year there will also be three guest artists on hand to provide further insight into their respective offerings. This includes Mulganai’s Emma Hollingsworth speaking on her vibrant Indigenous art and Georgia Perry of her eponymous studio.
