Jack Johnson brings Ben Harper and John Butler to Sydney’s Domain in November 2026

Multi-platinum singer songwriter Jack Johnson is returning to Australia on a tour which will see him bring special guests Ben Harper and John Butler on to the bill for a massive concert in The Domain in Sydney.

The Surfilmusic Tour, which is timed with the release of a documentary film chronicling Johnson’s path from surfer to filmmaker to pop-folk music icon, is set to to be one of the standout concerts when it hits Sydney in 2026.

The trio of Johnson, Harper and Australian indie legend Butler will land at The Domain on Saturday, November 14, 2026, delivering a lineup straight from the wishlist of any root rock music fan.

Grammy Award winner Harper and Butler, best known for his time as the eponymous frontman of the John Butler Trio, will both play acoustic sets before Johnson takes the stage. Johnson and his band will perform fan favourites as well as new music from the upcoming Surfilmusic soundtrack.

Of course, what will make the night truly unforgettable is when – and it has to be when, not if – all three take the stage together for the ultimate jam.

This will be the first time in four years that Johnson has toured Down Under

It will be the first time that Johnson has shared a stage with both Butler and Harper and marks Johnson’s return to touring after his last run of headline dates in 2022.

Emily Wurramara, the AIR Award-winning and ARIA-nominated artist, will open Sydney’s one-night-only gig.

Johnson is best known for his work in the soft rock and acoustic genres. In 2001, he achieved commercial success after the release of his debut album, Bushfire Fairytales, and has been at the top of the charts with his albums  Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George in 2006, Sleep Through the Static in 2008, To the Sea in 2010 and From Here to Now to You in 2013.

The Domain is the perfect setting for a concert like this. Tucked between the Botanic Garden, with stunning backdrops, it’s one of the most beautiful spaces to hold big gigs of this nature – a laid-back lineup like this one. In January 2026, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds played two nights at The Domain, drawing in a 10,000-plus crowd each night.

The tour announcement is another highlight on Sydney’s stacked calendar of gigs for 2026.
