The 2026 Voltaren City2Surf takes place on Sunday, August 9, and with race day fast approaching, now’s the time to start planning your perfect post-run celebration.
For many, the true spirit of City2Surf isn’t just found on the course, but in the celebrations that come after. Bondi is jam-packed with people on a runner’s high, looking to celebrate their efforts on Sydney’s hardest 14km course. We’ve rounded up all the best places to kick on after the run, whether you’re keen to stay in Bondi or escape to a neighbouring suburb.
Best City2Surf kick-ons in Bondi
Salty’s
A Bondi staple, Salty’s is known for serving up signature margaritas and beachside buzz. They’ll be opening extra-early at 9am on August 9, and serving up their stacked menu for hungry runners (and spectators). DJs will be playing throughout the day too, with no reservations needed.

Hotel Ravesis
Hotel Ravesis’s prime location overlooking Bondi Beach means it’s going to be a popular kick-on venue post-City2Surf. The doors open from 8am, with plenty of space reserved for walk-ins, but expect it to fill up fast once runners start crossing the finish line. Cross the line, grab a drink and claim your spot before the crowds roll in.

Hotel Bondi
Hotel Bondi proudly claims to be “the closest bar to the finish line”, making it the ideal spot for a well-earned schooner when your legs have nothing left to give. Overlooking Bondi Beach and the stream of runners crossing the finish, its balcony is one of the best vantage points in the area. Beach Road Hotel
The Beachy claims to be the unofficial finish line of the City2Surf, stating that when “the run ends, the real fun begins”. This ultimate afterparty will kick off with DJs from 10am across all their levels, including the beer garden, bars and dance floor.

North Bondi Fish
This iconic seafood eatery has a sprawling view of Bondi Beach and big kick-on plans for August 9. They’ll be offering a one-day-only City2Surf Disco Yum Cha experience from 12pm, with a complimentary Aperol or Campari Spritz on arrival for all runners.

The Depot X Bondi Public School
The Depot is turning Bondi Public School into the ultimate post-City2Surf recovery hub, all while raising funds for the school’s P&C. Teaming up with local health and wellness businesses, the event will feature matcha, massages, hydration stations, activewear pop-ups and plenty of feel-good vibes to help runners recover after the race.

Royal Bondi
The Royal is enticing runners to come and party at their venue with a complimentary Hahn Superdry or 3.5 on arrival for all runners. The venue will be open from 9am with DJs until close and breakfast specials in the morning.

Promenade Beach Bar
Another venue that sits right next to the finish line, Promenade Beach Bar will transform into the huge Finish Line Festival. They’ll be offering a beverage package for $149 per person, or a non-alcoholic version for $99 per person, and with these you’ll secure fresh fruit platters, pastries and seafood stations, as well as massages and live entertainment.

Where to go outside of Bondi
The Golden Sheaf
City2Sheaf is nearly as big as the main event itself. The Golden Sheaf will be open from 8am, throwing a huge post-race party that focuses on recovery and revelry. DJs will be playing all day across the Beer Garden and Rooftop, with pop-up bars pouring throughout the venue and POOLCLVB taking over from 1pm.
They’ve even organised free buses to shuttle you straight to the Sheaf between 11am-2pm, departing every 15 minutes from the corner of Glenayr Ave and Curlewis Street.

The Royal Oak
This Double Bay bar is just around the corner from the Sheaf, and they’re also offering free shuttles back from Bondi, which you can register for here. They’ll be hosting live entertainment and DJs upstairs on Phil’s Rooftop all afternoon, making it the perfect place to recover with a schooner in hand.

Woollahra Hotel
Woollahra Hotel will be giving the first 100 City2Surfers a free Hahn SuperDry on August 9. Doors will open at 10am, and you can re-energise with their classic $35 Sunday Roast from 12pm, which includes either roasted half chicken or pasture-fed striploin, with duck fat potatoes, roasted root vegetables, garden peas and Yorkshire pudding.
