Bill Bailey brings new stand-up show Vaudevillean to Sydney in 2026

  • Award-winning and much-loved UK comedian Bill Bailey will perform two shows in Sydney in 2026.
  • It’s been two years since Bailey toured Australia when he brought Thoughtifer here in 2024.
  • Tickets to his new show Vaudevillean go on sale Monday, April 13, 2026, at 12pm.

Bill Bailey is heading back to Sydney in 2026 with a brand new show called Vaudevillean.

The popular star of TV shows Black Books, Nevermind the Buzzcocks, and QI will embark on an Australian tour in October and November 2026, which will include at least two dates in Sydney.

Given Bailey’s own style of performing and entertaining live audiences, the show is aptly called “Vaudevillean”. It celebrates the golden age of entertainment that existed before streaming, before television, before cinema – even before radio.

Vaudeville was the original prime-time entertainment of its day and often brought together unrelated acts – music, comedy, dance, animal acts – with the purpose of amusing and amazing one and all. Bailey is all that in one act – except the animal stuff (although we’re sure he could do that too if he had to).

In Vaudevillean, Bailey celebrates the spirit of classic variety performance with inventive comedy and dazzling music to deliver audiences joyous escapism.

A master of musical comedy and surreal wit, Bailey blends virtuosic musicianship with a wonderfully offbeat sense of humour.

Bailey’s creative reach spans television, film, music, writing, and live performance. He won the 2020 UK series of Strictly Come Dancing and he has toured the globe with shows including Part TrollTinselwormQualmpeddlerLimboland, and Thoughtifier. He has a strong connection with Australia, having fallen in love with the country when he was a child and he even made a four-part travel show here, Bill Bailey’s Australian Adventure.

Bailey’s 17-date Australian tour will kick off in September with stops in Sydney at the State Theatre on Monday, September 28, 2026, and the Rooty Hill Coliseum Theatre on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

Tickets go on sale Monday, April 13, 2026. For further details head here.
