Food, fashion and fun: 10 Sydney markets you’ll love

Whether you’re a local stocking up on fresh produce or a visitor looking to soak up Sydney culture, community markets are a great way to connect. Mostly held over the weekend, markets support small businesses and artisan makers, and bring people together to eat, shop and mingle. From the east coast to the city’s fringe, you’ll find bustling outdoor markets with everything from organic dinner ingredients and entertainment for kids to seasonal flowers and global street food. Here are some of the best Sydney markets to visit.

Since 1973, the Paddington Markets have passionately encouraged local designers – Zimmermann, Lisa Ho and Dinosaur Designs got their start with original stalls here. Today, the market has more than 150 unique stallholders, plus a delicious array of international cuisine, locally baked bread and handmade sweets.
