- Pop queen Kesha will headline a new festival on Bondi Beach in February 2026.
- Mighty Hoopla is a famous LGBTQI+ festival in the UK, now it’s heading to Sydney.
- The festival promises a day of unapologetic inclusivity and colour.
Fuzzy’s returning New Year’s Eve festival isn’t the only large-scale music event set to take over Bondi Beach in the coming months, with the UK’s cult Mighty Hoopla festival pitching its Australian debut on Sydney’s most iconic sands. And they’re doing it in a big way, bringing none other than pop superstar and LGBTQI+ icon Kesha in as the headliner.
This is a festival, mind you, that has a long track record of platforming nostalgia pop legends, such as Nelly Furtado, Sugababes and Jessie Ware. Kesha’s appointment aligns perfectly with the vibe, bringing her unapologetic pop euphoria straight to Bondi Beach on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
The famous UK festival has been buzzing for almost a decade now, transforming London’s Brockwell Park into a hyperkinetic, multi-coloured dreamland of pop, pride and joy. That sets the perfect stage for Sydney’s queer community to celebrate in full-force, with the festival hinged on the ideals of inclusivity and self-expression.
The alignment is obvious. Mardi Gras celebrations kick off in mid-February and culminate in the famous Mardi Gras Parade at the top of March. February 21 slots in perfectly so attendees can go all out at Mighty Hoopla and still participate in all the Mardi Gras festivities, including the lauded After Party.
“Australia has always been my second home,” said Mighty Hoopla founder Glyn Fussell. “It’s where I found out who I was as a queer man, and it’s alwasy been part of the Mighty Hoopla family in spirit. You’ve got the best pop fans in the world! Expect joy, chaos and the campest day of your life.”
Kesha will be bringing hits like “We R Who We R” and “Joyride” to Bondi Beach in what promises to be a banger of a live show. Her recent performances are louder, brasher and more unapologetic than ever before, serving the same bold immaculate vibes that imbued her debut hit, “Tik Tok,” with such urgent fierceness.
Kesha will be joined by other artists on stage, but a full line up is yet to be confirmed.
