  • Lewis Capaldi Sydney: The Scottish singer-songwriter and all-round funny man has announced a string of tour dates.
  • He made a return to the stage at Glastonbury festival on June 27, the first since his last show in 2023.
  • Sydney is among the Australian tour dates announced โ€” this is what to know.

If you haven’t seen Lewis Capaldi’s big return to the stage at Glastonbury last month, where have you been?! The Scottish singer-songwriter took a step back from the stage in 2023, following a heart-wrenching performance on the Pyramid Stage which saw him physically unable to finish Somebody You Loved as his health issues took over.

Overcome with severe tics caused by tourette syndrome, Capaldi couldn’t sing any more and the crowd had to take over. His “secret” set (though many guessed it) at Glastonbury a few weeks ago was one of the most heart-warming and moving moments of the five-day festival.

โ€œSecond timeโ€™s a charm on this one,โ€ he told the crowd during his performance. โ€œI just wanted to come and finish what I couldnโ€™t finish last time.โ€

Three days later, he announced a UK and Ireland tour, and is back in the charts with his new single, Survive, which is already the fastest selling single of the year in the UK. Buoyed by the welcome back, he’s keeping the momentum going with the announcement of a number of Australian shows in December.

To quote the man himself: “My name is Lewis Capaldi and I’m [expletive] back, baby.”

Where are Lewis Capaldi’s Sydney shows in December?

The Australian tour opens in Brisbane before it comes to Sydney and then on to the other three Australian cities.

Lewis last played in Australia in 2019, at Falls Festival. He was due to play at Splendour in the Grass in 2023 before embarking on a sold-out national tour, but that was cancelled following his Glastonbury appearance.

Making his long-awaited return Down Under this summer, he’ll start in Brisbane before heading to Sydney and then on to three other major Australian cities. The dates are:

  • Brisbane: Entertainment Centre โ€” December 4
  • Sydney: Qudos Bank Arena โ€” December 6
  • Melbourne: Rod Laver Arena โ€”ย December 12
  • Adelaide: Entertainment Centre โ€” December 15
  • Perth: RAC Arena โ€”ย December 17

These dates follow two shows in New Zealand: Christchurch’s Wolfbrook Arena on November 20 and Auckland’s Spark Arena on December 2.

How much will Lewis Capaldi tickets cost?

Prices for tickets in Australia are yet to be announced, but itโ€™s been confirmed that standard tickets for Lewis’s UK shows will be priced between ยฃ32.25โ€“ยฃ111.70 and his Dublin show is confirmed to be priced from โ‚ฌ31.15. We’ll update this article once ticket prices are revealed.

Tickets for his Australian show dates are likely to be more expensive, to cover the costs of long-haul travel, staffing, rigging and all the other costs of a nationwide tour. But we can only hope they stay around the $100 mark. VIP seats will, as always, come in at a premium cost.

Lewis Capaldi Tour set list

There’s not much to go by at this stage, as Lewis stepped away from the spotlight for two years, with limited public appearances and no new releases. Until Survive, that is. His Glastonbury appearance was short but sweet, including several of his most popular hits: Before You Go, Grace, Hold Me While You Wait, Bruises, Forget Me and Someone You Loved were the crowd-pleasers. Survive, his latest single, went down incredibly well too though, despite being released that same day.

It’s pretty safe to say these will appear on the set list during his comeback tour later this year.

Who will be the support act the Lewis Capaldi Sydney show

English singerย Skye Newman and Irish songwriter Aaron Rowe will join Capaldi as support acts on the UK leg of his global tour. The support act for his Australian shows has yet to be announced โ€” we just hope he takes advantage of Michael’s Rule and brings an Aussie singer on board.
