As part of their latest upcoming tour, iconic Kiwi band Crowded House will play a special intimate show at Sydney’s historic State Theatre, adding to a string of theatre sets that’ll take them up and down the east coast of Australia.

When they were last seen in Sydney, Crowded House performed as part of the Sydney Opera House’s summer Forecourt series, belting out their greatest hits to an adoring capacity crowd on the steps of the architectural icon. Now, they’re shifting over to another famous space, planning a show at the highly decorative State Theatre on Market Street.

The seven-date, “Pop Up Shows” tour is much more pared-back then their last journey around Australia, which took them over to some of our biggest arenas to perform songs like “Don’t Dream It’s Over” and “Better Be Home Soon.” This ones more about the atmosphere, dipping into something smaller scale with sets that feel more personal and accessible to the band’s unwavering supporters.

“This is Crowded House as you’ve never seen themโ€”up close, personal, and unforgettable,” reads the official announcement for the tour, which is presented by Live Nation and Triple M and kicks off in Cairns on October 8 before running through Townsville, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Byron Bay and Hobart.

One of the most beloved catalogues in this part of the world has shifted over 15 million records for Crowded House throughout their stories career, netting them a total of 13 ARIA Awards and a handful of others from a Brit Award to an MTV VMA. The biggest credit to their name, however, is the sheer amount of people who light up with song each and every time on of the band’s hits comes on the radio.

How to get tickets to see Crowded House in Sydney?

Crowded House will play at State Theatre on Wednesday, October 22 with tickets going on sale to the general public at 2pm local time on Friday, August 8.

Although there are a few pre-sales to take note of as well. Crowded House concerts always sell out fast, so this is a great way lock some tickets down and avoid disappointment. First, an exclusive Private Universe Artist presale twill take place from Tuesday, August 5. Then there’s a CommBank presale for Yello customers with a Mastercard on Tuesday, August 5 at 12pm. A Live Nation presale will follow on Thursday, August 7 from 1pm.
