For many, the true spirit of City2Surf isn’t just found on the course, but in the celebrations that come after. Bondi is jam-packed with people on a runner’s high, looking to celebrate their efforts on Sydney’s hardest 14km course. We’ve rounded up all the best places to kick on after the run, whether you’re keen to stay in Bondi or escape to a neighbouring suburb.

Best Bondi venues

1. Salty’s

A Bondi staple, Salty’s is known for serving up signature margaritas and beachside buzz. They’ll be opening extra-early at 9am on August 10, and serving a brekkie burger special for hungry runners (and spectators). Live saxophonists and DJs will be playing throughout the day too, with no reservations needed.

When: Opens at 9am.

2. Will & Co. X PILLAR

PILLAR Performance is hosting an unofficial City2Surf afterparty titled ‘The Recovery’. It’ll be a street-party celebration of community, performance and post-race recharge, featuring street DJs and a free curated recovery menu, which will include collagen coffees, freshly baked croissants and even protein ice cream.

Will & Co. will also host an exclusive athlete hangout with 120 guests and some big names in the running and sporting community, including Nedd Brockmann, Bree Rizzo, Brett Robinson, Dane Rampe and Toby Greene.

Where: Corner of Gould Street and Beach Road, Bondi.
When: From 9am-12pm.

3. Hotel Ravesis

Hotel Ravesis’s prime location overlooking Bondi Beach means it’s going to be a popular kick-on venue post-City2Surf. They’re opening their doors at 8am to celebrate, with live music kicking off downstairs at 12pm and continuing throughout the day. Ravesis will also be hosting an event upstairs with DJs from 10am. There will be space for walk-ins, which will fill up quickly, so run first and claim your spot.

4. Beach Road Hotel

The Beachy claims to be the unofficial finish line of the City2Surf, stating that when “the run ends, the real fun begins”. This ultimate afterparty will kick off with DJs from 10am across all their levels, including the beer garden, bars and dancefloor.

5. North Bondi Fish

This iconic seafood eatery has a sprawling view of Bondi Beach and big kick-on plans for August 10. They’ll be opening their doors at 10am for all-day dining, drinking and celebratory fun. DJs will be spinning decks until late, with SEANI performing live from 2pm to 5pm. Special drink deals include $15 tap cocktailsโ€” don’t miss out, reservations are now open.

6. Royal Bondi

The Royal is enticing runners to come and party at their venue with a free drink on arrival to those who show their bib upon entry. The venue will be open from 10am until 10pm, with DJs until close and breakfast specials in the morning.

7. Pocket

Pocket Bondi is doing a huge collaboration for City2Surf with international tequila brand, 818 (yes, the brand created by supermodel Kendall Jenner). All day long, they’ll be giving away limited-edition 818 x Pocket caps with Millionaire Margarita purchases. Celebrations will kick off at 10am on a first-in, best-dressed basis.

Where to go outside of Bondi

8. The Golden Sheaf

City2Sheaf is nearly as big as the main event itself. The Golden Sheaf will be open from 8am, throwing a huge post-race party that focuses on recovery and revelry. There will be a post-race menu, complimentary massages and non-stop music from 10am in the courtyard and rooftop until late. They’ve even organised free party buses to shuttle you straight to the Sheaf between 11am-2pm, departing every 15 minutes from the corner of Glenayr Ave and Curlewis Street.

Although the Sheaf is now fully booked on August 10, walk-ins are welcome โ€” just be sure to arrive early, as it’s one of the most popular post-City2Surf spots.

9. The Royal Oak

This Double Bay bar is just around the corner from the Sheaf, and they’re also offering free shuttles back from Bondi, which you can register for here. They’ll be hosting live entertainment and DJs upstairs on Phil’s Rooftop all afternoon, making it the perfect place to recover with a schooner in hand.

Woollahra Hotel post-City2Surf

10. Woollahra Hotel

Woollahra Hotel will be giving the first 100 City2Surfers a free Kirin Kyoketsu on August 10. Doors will open at 11am with live entertainment all afternoon downstairs in the front bar. You can re-energise with their $32 classic Sunday Roast from 12pm, which includes slow-roasted pork belly, braised red cabbage, glazed carrots, roast potatoes, peas, Yorkshire pudding, and gravy.

When: Opens at 11am.

11. Bellevue Hotel

The Bellie are hosting a cool-down party that features a refuel menu and DJs spinning from 1pm-4pm. They’ll be opening their doors at 10am, shaking City2Surf-themed cocktails all day and will even have a Capital Brewing’s Wheel of Fortune, with free beers and prizes for race-goers.
