Everything is under $20 at Casa Mami’s (Image: Casa Mami’s Instagram)

1. Mami’s Casa Latina, Bondi

This mini Mexican cantina hit the scene like a fried egg on a hot bonnet. Everyone’s been talking about the signature pork empanadas since they opened their doors and announced nothing over $20! But here’s the best part, their breakfasts are next level. Think of chilaquiles made with tortillas topped with salsa, beans and a fried egg or scrambled eggs with pico de gallo and guac and enfrijoladas (Mexican dish similar to enchiladas, but they are bathed in a creamy black bean sauce instead of a chile sauce) with beans and cheese.

Tacos are absolutely a breakfast dish! Corn tortillas with fresh, zesty toppings, and with locally sourced meat from Randwick and fresh regional produce. It’s one for $6, or four for $20, so that’s a no brainer. And to drink, there are rainbow-coloured Jarritos.

Top tip: It’s in Bondi, so while the brekkie is cheap, the parking is not. Give yourself time to find a backstreet parking spot and walk there, working up your appetite!

Where: 284 Bondi Rd, Bondi.

How much: Everything on the menu is under $20, so you’ll leave with change!

Bacon and Egg rolls at Frank’s Deli are New York Inspired works of art. (Image: Frank’s Deli)

4. Frank’s Deli, Waverley

It’s a bloody big call to say you’ve got the best bacon and egg roll in Sydney. But when you hear it’s New York inspired, you can just nod knowingly and say “I’ll take two please.” The Manhattan-inspired spot pays homage to deli classics, but with a Euro twist that reflects the owners’ background. Their all-day menu includes loaded sandwiches with a twist. Instead of naming it the “bacon and egg roll”, it’s named Frank’s Sammy and instead of having boring old bacon they swap it out for Polish speck (fat and juicy, chunked between a milk bun with fluffy folded egg and gooey warm cheese).

If you’re feeling really NYC about it, you can swap out the traditional coffee and instead boost your energy and your gut health with a mega-nourishing bone broth. Dee-lish!

Top tip: Whilst your bacon and egg roll won’t hit the hip pocket, beware the delectable pantry fillers that adorn the shelves. You’ll be a kid in a candy store and skip your mortgage repayments after stocking up on the likes of Mount Zero Olive Oil, Vanella cheese, Olasagasti anchovies, Hot Luck Sauce, Lulu’s Remedy Chilli Oil and Moon Mart Korean condiments.

Where: 279 Bronte Road, Waverley

How much: Frank’s Sammy will set you back just $17 plus a sticky chai for $5 and you’re out the door for under $23 or faster than you can hail a NY cab!
