Meet the stars of Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham AFC in Paddington tonight only

Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s Welsh footabll team, Wrexham AFC, are in Sydney tonight, taking on Sydney FC – and they’re bringing more than just a match.

If you’ve caught any of the four seasons of Welcome to Wrexham on Disney+, you’ll know what we’re talking about when we mention Wrexham FC. The Welsh football club is the third oldest professional football club in the world and, in 2020, it was bought by Hollywood actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The docuseries follows their journey as they learn all about football and managing a club.

The series is Australia’s second favourite reality series, only surpassed by The Kardashians – likely a big reason why the Welsh team is embarking on its first ever Australian tour.

They played in Melbourne last week, winning 3-0 against Melbourne Victory, and will be hoping for similar success tonight. Concluding their Australian and New Zealand tour on Saturday, the Welsh team will play Wellington Phoenix before flying back to the UK to take on Southampton in a few weeks time.

To kick things off tonight, before Wrexham’s clash with Sydney FC, BWS Paddington is hosting an exclusive fan event this afternoon (July 15), so you can meet the stars of the series and celebrate the club’s incredible global rise.

Meet the stars of Welcome to Wrexham at BWS Paddington

From 4pm–5pm today, BWS Paddington will transform into a Wrexham hub, giving Aussie fans the ultimate pre-match warmup. Fan Favourite Wayne Jones, landlord of The Turf Hotel, ex-Manchester United and England goalkeeper Ben Foster, and former Wrexham captain Ben Tozer will be attending.

Arrive early, as the first 10 fans through the doors will score: a double pass to tonight’s Wrexham vs Sydney FC match, and Wrexham merch worth $215, including the official 2024/25 home jersey and a supporter scarf. The next 10 in line will also go home with exclusive Wrexham merchandise.

Wrexham lager launches in Australia
