It’s an announcement that everyone was expecting: Ed Sheeran will bring his tour to Australia in early 2026. Coming seven weeks before his eighth studio album, Play, drops, the announcement is welcome news to his fans who have been begging for his return Down Under for months.

Last month we reported on his TikTok replies to fans, basically confirming his Australian shows. His Mathematics tour began in Dublin in 2022 and is currently playing across Europe before a slight diversion to Las Vegas for iHeartRadio Music Festival in September.

What fans didn’t expect, however, is the announcement of a brand-new tour. After a slight gap in programming (for now) the Loop Tour will begin in Auckland on Friday, January 16, 2026, and then head to Wellington and Christchurch before landing in Australia.

Ed Sheeran will come to Australia in January, February and March 2026. Here’s everything you need to know, including when he’ll play in your city and when tickets will go on sale.

Ed Sheeran Australia 2026 Tour Dates

The Australian tour opens in Perth before it comes to Sydney and then on to three other Australian cities.

Ed last played in Australia in 2023, when he made headlines for repeatedly breaking Australian concert attendance records. More than 200,000 fans travelled to Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia’s largest stadium, to catch his 2023 shows.

The dates of his 2026 Australian Loop Tour are:

  • Perth: Optus Stadium — Saturday, January 31
  • Sydney: Accor Stadium — Friday, February 13 & Saturday, February 14
  • Brisbane: Suncorp Stadium — Friday, February 20 & Saturday, February 21
  • Melbourne: Marvel Stadium — Thursday, February 26 & Friday, February 27
  • Adelaide: Adelaide Oval — Thursday, March 5.

Our set list suspicions

When announcing the new tour, Ed said fans can expect “new stage, new tricks, new set up, new songs and all the classics added in”. Obviously Ed will be dropping a new album in a few weeks, so there will definitely be some changes to this running order to make way for new hits. Judging by his Mathematics Tour set list though, we think it may look a little like this:

  1. Castle on the Hill
  2. Shivers
  3. I’m a Mess
  4. The A Team
  5. Don’t Play
  6. Lego House
  7. Give Me Love
  8. Eyes Closed
  9. I See Fire
  10. Galway Girl
  11. Thinking Out Loud
  12. Old Phone
  13. Happier
  14. Love Yourself (Justin Bieber cover)
  15. Perfect
  16. Photograph
  17. Tenerife Sea
  18. Bloodstream
  19. Afterglow
  20. ENCORE: You Need Me, I Don’t Need You
  21. ENCORE: Azizam
  22. ENCORE: Shape of You
  23. ENCORE: Bad Habits

Sydney, gear up. Ed Sheeran is back, with a new album, bigger loops and a larger-than-life stage and tricks. It’s going to be a must‑see event for fans new and old.
