It’s Halloween on Friday, meaning this weekend is all about freaky, festive fun.
With plenty of events taking place all over the city, and lots of last-minute tickets up for grabs, don’t spend the evening on the couch with a bucket of candy- suit up in your spookiest look and hit up one of these events. From Día de los Muertos celebrations at the Woollahra Hotel to bottomless night brunches in Barangaroo, here’s where to spend the scariest night of the year.

1. Ghost in The Rocks
The Rocks’ four-day Halloween festival debuted last year to huge acclaim, so look for this year’s edition to be even bigger. From Thursday through to Sunday, the many ghosts of The Rocks will transform the old quarter into their haunted playground, jam-packed with wild parties, roving entertainment, immersive experiences and plenty of spooky surprises. Although Ghost in The Rocks is free, there are a few ticketed events, like the Trick or Drink cocktail trail, a four-stop crawl through the precinct, or the Ghost Cinema, Sydney’s scariest outdoor screenings of all your favourite horror movies.

2. Festival of Frights at Woollahra Hotel
Woollahra Hotel is hosting a three-day festival this Halloween weekend, inspired by Día de los Muertos (the Day of the Dead). The hotel will come alive from Friday through to Sunday with a live mariachi band, tequila cocktail specials, street-style hibachi tacos and immersive Halloween styling throughout. Celebrate this culturally rich holiday at the WoHo’s Casamigos-fuelled event and enjoy free entry throughout the weekend.

3. Maple Social Club: Halloween at The Old Clare
We know by now that Maple Social Club puts on a good party, and this Halloween, they’ve teamed up with MAC Cosmetics and the Old Clare in Chippendale for their biggest bash yet. MSC is taking over the entire hotel, spotlighting Sydney’s hottest up-and-coming DJs all night long. On the MAC stage, get ready for pulsing techno and DnB, featuring a set from Tommie Traxx, while the Clare Bar serves up house and disco, with popular returner Steevie spinning from 9pm-10:30pm. 4. Pups in Pubs: Howl-o-ween
Dogs can sometimes find Halloween a bit distressing, thanks to scary costumes and doorbell-ringing trick or treaters. BrewDog South Eveleigh is trying to change this, with their Pups in Pubs: Howl-o-Ween edition, a doggy day out for both you and your pups’ enjoyment. Join in the fun on Sunday, November 2, from 12pm to 3pm, and enjoy stalls, free samples and giveaways, all designed for dog lovers. There will also be a Best Dressed Pup Competition at 2:30pm, so make sure your four-legged friend is dressed accordingly. They also have a dog trainer from K9 Counselling to help with any pet-related questions or concerns.

5. Graveyard Shift at the Marly
The Marly is hosting Halloween-themed events all week long, with horror-themed trivia on Thursday night, followed by a special Halloween edition of Marly Fridays on October 31. The party then continues on Saturday with Graveyard Shift, a three-level Halloween party where guests can dance the night away in their scariest costumes. The Marly will transform into a haunted graveyard crypt for these three nights of bloodcurdling fun, so dress to impress and get ready for a boogie on their iconic dancefloor.

6. Cargo Bar’s Halloween Carnival
We advise you to dress up spooky for Cargo Bar’s Halloween Carnival. Why? On Friday, tickets cost $25 for those in costume and $30 if you’re not. On Saturday, spooky attendees can save even more on tickets, at $30 for those dressed up and $40 for those without a costume. Guests can expect DJs, dancers, creepy characters, pop-up bars, themed drinks and a killer costume competition, as well as eerier photo ops and carnival performers. 7. Untied’s Bottomless Night Brunch
Love Halloween? Love Bottomless Brunch? Then this event is for you. Sydney’s first Bottomless Halloween Night Brunch is taking place at Untied this Friday, and it’s set to be hauntingly delicious. For $99 per person, guests can enjoy two hours of bottomless boozing, featuring spritzers, brews, wine and spirits, all paired with Halloween-inspired share plates. Snack on charcoal-bun sliders, fiery ‘trick or heat’ wings, and loaded ‘fright night’ fries. Enjoy a live DJ set as you look out at the Barangaroo skyline and take in the rooftop views.

8. The Bank’s MEDUSA X Rocky Horror
Get ready for a night of sexy, spooky fun at MEDUSA’s Rocky Horror Party, celebrating 50 years of the iconic Rocky Horror Picture Show. MEDUSA events are created by the queer community for the queer community, welcoming everyone to come and celebrate in style. Expect sultry performances, a killer DJ lineup including YVNGCWEEK and DJ GK, and make sure to dress up in your best themed costume (which isn’t mandatory, but is highly encouraged). Final release tickets are on sale now for $30, with limited tickets available at the door for $35.

9. Luna Park’s Halloscream
Luna Park’s annual Halloween celebration is back, giving Sydney one of its biggest and most immersive spooktaculars right on the water’s edge. Duck through the giant mouth and enter a world devilishly designed for a good scare with actors and dances, haunted labyrinths and rides that have been completely transformed to fit the theme. Luna Park surrenders its entire park to the whims of ghouls and ghosts that are so real and vivid, even the big kids leave with the trembles.

10. Party at The Island’s Haunted Halloween House
Double Touch, the iconic duo with a unique blend of classical and EDM, lead the charge as Sydney Harbour’s floating nightclub, The Island, springs into its 2025/26 season with a haunted Halloween House. The five-hour on-water dance party takes place at one of Australia’s most iconic dancefloors, ferrying guests from the Man O’ War steps to an immersive soiree that’ll be packed with your favourite influencers all dressed up in their best spooky outfits from 6pm to 11pm.
