Here’s how to dine at Quay for less than $100

  • Quay is Australia’s most endearing fine dining experience having been around since the late 1980s.
  • Peter Gilmore’s highly acclaimed eight-course menu is priced at $385 per person.
  • Desserts by Quay is a new concept, allowing guests to dine at the bar with a sweet treat and a glass of Champagne for $90 per person.

Want to finally tick “dinner at Quay” off your dining bucketlist? You’re looking at at least $385 just for the eight-course menu. Even more if you want to grab drinks on top of that.

An experience at Quay doesn’t come cheap. Peter Gilmore’s inimitable fine dining institution has been Sydney’s most highly sought experience for more than 30 years, with reservations consistently hard to come by and a consistent level of acclaim that would be the envy of just about every restaurateur in the industry.

So a new initiative from the restaurant offering tables for less than $100 does seem a bit too good to be true. In a way, it is. You’re only getting dessert and a glass of Champagne with the new Desserts by Quay offering, but considering the sweet course is often the highlight of an experience here, the program is well worth your attention.

Desserts by Quay is a new offering from the restaurant, launched this week with a simple proposition. You pay $90 and in return you’ll get your choice of desserts alongside a glass of Charles Heidsieck champagne. Quay’s famous Snow Egg isn’t on the menu for this one, but Peter Gilmore will have two special desserts for guests to choose from on the night.

Quay’s full wine and cocktail lists will be available to anyone who wants to fork out a bit extra. Guests also have the option of adding on other desserts, a cheese course, or caviar with Quay’s signature Poolish crumpets.

Bookings for Desserts by Quay are only available between Wednesday and Sunday and only for 8:45pm and 9pm sittings with a 1.5 hour allocation. Walk-ins are welcome but bookings are recommended.
