The Christmas Day forecast is in for Sydney and it’s all-round good news for anyone wanting to dial in that quintessential Harbour City lifestyle. All signs indicate that we’re in for a beautiful Christmas Day.
Accuweather has reported “abundant sunshine” for December 25, 2024, making it highly probably Christmas Day in Sydney this year will be definitive, with boats on the harbour, packed-out beaches and snags sizzling on the BBQ. We already hear the tongs clinking in anticipation.
Sydney weather can be unpredictable at times, but nowhere near as erratic as other Australian capitals like Melbourne and Brisbane. Down in South Australia, Adelaide will be having its typical scorcher as well. It’s highly unlikely we’ll get anything different from what Accuweather is reporting right now, which means Christmas Day will be a perfect sunny day.

Christmas Eve won’t be much different from Christmas Day. You can expect Sydney to be breaking out its best weather with a “full day of sunshine” according to Accuweather. Highs of 26°C with a zero per cent chance of thunderstorms means you’ll be best off hitting the beach before tearing open those oddly-shaped presents lying under the Christmas tree.
Christmas Eve evening will be much more civilised than Christmas Day evening as well. There’s zero per cent chance of thunderstorms with 17 per cent cloud and cover and only 1 per cent of rain.
What’s the weather like in Sydney on Boxing Day?
Showers look more likely on Boxing Day, but don’t panic just yet. There’s a 40 per cent chance of rain but it should last for only one hour in the city and on the Northern Beaches. There will be a 8 per cent chance of thunderstorms but highs of 27°C, which more or less means Boxing Day will be mostly sunny.
