- Bubble Planet: An Immersive Experience arrives in Sydney after finding massive success in cities like New York, London and Milan.
- The kid-friendly experience is another evolution of the immersive edutainment trend that’s been so popular in Sydney.

Immersive edutainment is the way of the future for family-friendly fun in Sydney. That much has been shown time and time again with tech-forward experiences like Dinos Alive and Luna Park’s Sonic Neon. The next in line: ‘Bubble Planet: An Immersive Experience,’ popping into Sydney Olympic Park’s Paddington Pavilion fresh from sold-out runs in London and New York City.
Come Friday, June 6, Sydney Olympic Park’s Paddington Pavilion, which has fast become the home for immersive edutainment, will unwrap this multi-sensory experience with 10 whimsical rooms, each offering a different ecosystem of light, colour, bubbles and fantasy.
The more-is-more approach that Bubble Planet pulls together an overarching fantastical journey pushed along with mind-bending optical illusions, state-of-the-art virtual reality experiences, projections and, of course, bubbles.
We’re talking all kinds of bubbles. Kids and their parents can step inside a massive bubble dome filled with colourful magic, bounce across a room of vibrant bubble balloons, take a plunge into an ocean of floating balloons, wade through a bubble bath pit, enter a soap bubble room and more.
On top of that, you’ve got an LED ocean bringing kids close to creatures of the deep, infinity rooms, a games area, and a place to create artwork and scan it into a projected underwater scene, much like the pioneering folks over at TeamLAB in Japan.
And after kids have wiggled their way through the many different rooms, they’ll end up in a dedicated party space where friends (both new and established) can celebrate with the ultimate bubbled-filled party experience.
The blend of art, play and technology speaks just as strong to a parents’ inner-child as it does an actual child. That much has been shown around the world, in places like Milan and London with over two million people throwing themselves at the experience so far. Sydney’s edition should be no less successful, especially since these cutting-edge edutainment experiences are becoming more common to meet demand.
Note that Bubble Planet is suitable for all ages. Children under the age of 4 enter free of charge. Do remember that it can be quite an overwhelming experience so parents who have children on the autism spectrum may want to carefully consider whether this experience is suitable.
